Do you have a successful podcast? If yes, you already know it is a great way to connect with your followers. Did you know your podcast is also a great tool for affiliate marketing? Below are tips to optimize your podcast for your Fanatics affiliate links.
Shout Outs with Specific Call to Actions
Integrate your favorite Fanatics products into your podcast. There are two options here. Option one is to take an ‘ad break.’ Followers are used to listening to ads on the podcast so taking a quick break to give a shout out to your sponsors is effective and easy. During this shout out, be sure to describe your personal experience and why you are promoting Fanatics. It could something as simple as “If you like our podcast, one way you can support us is by shopping for all of your fan gear through our partner Fanatics – To shop and support our podcast, just visit (your url.com)/fanatics”.
It is important you give your listeners an easy to remember url to see your promotions. If you use WordPress to build your blog/site there are great plugins like Pretty Links that you can use to build simple, on-domain redirects to your ShareASale link. Or, you could build out a full Landing Page that shows off some products, promotions and provides links for your listeners to use to shop at Fanatics or our other stores you might be working with.
Create a Landing Page
Did you notice I mentioned a unique url for your shout out? It is important you refer your followers to your page so they can click on your affiliate link. Looking for an example of an effective sponsored landing page? Check out The Ultimate Health Podcast.
Add Links In Your Show Notes
You should already be including your podcast show notes on your website. Your show notes include your episode summary as well as any reference links noted in the podcast. These notes are also a great place to include your affiliate links. Just remember to use a “shop to support our podcast” call to action for best results.
